Pictures revealing the manor's entryway and grand staircase have a distinctly old-school Tim Burton feel.

Here we are again, folks. We're about two months away from the release of "Dark Shadows" and we still don't have a trailer.
It's a little disconcerting that a film this big and anticipated doesn't have an official trailer out yet. But since there's not much we can do about that, let's talk about the latest thing to creep into the Shadowsverse this week: pictures of Collinwood Manor.
For those unfamiliar with the '60s soap, the manor is the principal setting for the action of "Shadows." When Barnabas (Johnny Depp) returns to Collinwood in 1972 after, you know, a few centuries buried in a mausoleum, he finds the once-grand estate in disrepair. His dysfunctional descendents who now reside at the grand manor haven't fared much better. Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has brought psychiatrist Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter) to live at Collinwood to help with her with her family's assorted troubles, including her rebellious teenage daughter, Carolyn (Chloë Moretz), and her ne'er-do-well brother Roger's troubled 10-year-old son, David (Gulliver McGrath).
Up until now, we've mostly been getting nothing but character portraits, so it's nice to get a glimpse inside the grand house. The pictures that found their way online this week are of the manor's grand staircase and of Barnabas and Willie Loomis (Jackie Earle Haley) checking out the elaborate detailing in the marble entryway.
The ornate staircase is pure Burton, with carved wood railings that give off a snake-like effect and an elaborate blue Victorian rug. We can see that the ceilings are vaulted in the style of traditional Gothic architecture and the whole thing is punctuated by a thin, nearly two-story window.
As for the marble entry, it's just as elaborate. In the image, we see Depp examining a frieze depicting what looks like the Roman god Neptune (or some sort of sea-like theme). Also Gothic in style, the marble archway behind them is likely the entrance to the manor.
We say likely, of course, because we really have no idea ... because there's still no trailer giving us any other perspective on Collinwood.
Both images are super cool and a little bit creepy, two adjectives that also describe the best of Burton's flicks. The set design certainly creates a great deal of atmosphere and is vaguely reminiscent of the styling created for Burton's "Sleepy Hollow," which wasn't a perfect flick but had a distinctly Burtonian feel to it. We hope we can say the same for "Shadows." I suppose we'll get a better sense of that when the trailer finally drops.
The sooner the better, Tim. The sooner the better!

In 'Talk Nerdy,' experts agree with Joss Whedon's claim that Hulk is the most difficult Avenger to get right.

Bruce Banner has a tendency to get angry. And despite what he says, you really should like him when he gets angry — because if you don't, well, you're going to have a lot of problems with "The Avengers."
Joss Whedon, the man bringing Earth's Mightiest Heroes to the big screen, confessed in a recent interview that Banner's irritable alter ego, the Hulk, is easily the most challenging Avenger to get right. He might not be wrong, considering that it's taken three different actors to play the big green meanie on the big screen — Eric Bana in 2003's "Hulk," Ed Norton in 2008's "The Incredible Hulk" and, soon, Mark Ruffalo in "The Avengers." And Whedon's assertion certainly has the support of some of the Web's top comic book and movie commentators.
"Without a doubt, I think Hulk is the hardest 'Avengers' character to translate to the big screen," MTV Geek's Valerie Gallaher told MTV News about her "Avengers" character concerns. "Using CGI to create a character in a live-action film will end up looking like one big cartoon if not done right."
"Both Joss Whedon and Mark Ruffalo have a lot of pressure to give Bruce Banner and the Hulk two distinctive yet relatable characters," agreed Steve Sunu of Comic Book Resources. "Only time will tell if 'The Avengers' is an improvement for Hulk over 'The Incredible Hulk.' "
Of course, just because a challenge exists doesn't mean it's insurmountable. NextMovie's Kevin Polowy, who also agrees that Hulk presents Whedon's biggest challenge, has faith in the director's ability to do the Jade Giant justice. "I do have faith that if anyone can get it done, it's Joss Whedon," he said. "But compared to proven screen figures like Iron Man, Captain America and Thor, Hulk is far and away the trickiest pony in the bunch."
Not everyone is so concerned about Hulk. Caleb Goellner with Comics Alliance doesn't see the incredible menace as the most problematic character in "The Avengers"; like me, he assigns that role to the not-super-deadly duo of Black Widow and Hawkeye.
"They're going to be the hardest to portray," he said. "Black Widow got some exposure in 'Iron Man 2' and Hawkeye was teased in 'Thor,' but the 'master assassins' are at a disadvantage compared to Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk. Their backstories will require considerable streamlining for them to make sense in this Marvel movieverse, so it will be interesting to see how much Joss Whedon and company will be able to fit in to an already packed movie.
"I suggest making them husband and wife, because that would be the cutest damn thing," Goellner added. Totally agreed, Caleb.

'We're happy with what we wrote,' Winter tells MTV News, confirming that he and Keanu Reeves reprised their characters while developing script.
By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz
God gave rock and roll to you, and if you're lucky, he'll give you a brand new "Bill and Ted" adventure as well! That's the plan, at least, according to one half of the dimwitted duo: Alex Winter, who starred as Bill Preston Esq. in both "Excellent Adventure" and "Bogus Journey," isn't just hoping for a "Bill and Ted" reunion, he's getting close to making it actually happen.
"I think the reality is that there probably will be another one," Winter told MTV News during a recent interview about his new Napster documentary, "Downloaded." Indeed, Winter and co-star Keanu Reeves both recently confirmed that a third "Bill and Ted" script is finished (and totally excellent). Of course, given how long it's taken to get the third movie off the ground — "Bogus Journey," their last appearance, hit theaters in 1991 — arriving at a universally agreed-upon idea wasn't an exact science.
"We just kicked ideas around [over the years] and eventually, we kicked one idea around that clicked," Winter said. "It felt timely. Funnily enough, it felt better because so much time had gone by. What would it be like to revisit those guys now? From a comedy standpoint, it felt kind of cool to revisit two galvanized comic characters a chunk of time later, [exploring] what you can do with that from a comedy perspective."
Though much time has passed between the last "Bill and Ted" and now, Winter admitted that it's "very possible" that Bill and Ted themselves, despite their age, haven't grown up with the times — though he would neither confirm nor deny their current maturity level. What he would say, however, is that the next "Bill and Ted" adventure would focus heavily on the rock and roll spirit that's always been present in the franchise.
"What's happened to rock and roll in the last 20 years? The movie's going to get in and play with some of that stuff," he said. "Where is rock? Where are we? What's happened to the whole idea of saving the world — or what hasn't happened? There's a lot to play with there."
There's so much to play with, in fact, that Winter and Reeves both slipped into character on more than one occasion while developing the new "Bill and Ted" script.
"Yes, we did. It's really sad how easy it was [to get back into character]," he laughed. "You go away and do all this other stuff and go, 'I'm not Bill, that's absurd!' ... And then me and Reeves got together, and suddenly we're the characters again. We didn't even mean to. We just started riffing on it. When we were doing notes and me and Reeves started riffing on the dialogue, it's just, oh my god. Yeah, it's in there. God knows."
"Bill and Ted 3," which has a title that Winter won't reveal just yet ("But it'll say it all," he promised), still has obstacles in the way. No, there are no Evil Us's to consider, but the script does not yet have a green-light. According to Winter, though, he's more than happy with the project as it stands, even if it never makes it to the big screen.
"It's something we think is a very fun thing. We had a lot of fun developing it, and the guys are amazing writers," Winter said of working with longtime "Bill and Ted" writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon. "We had a lot of fun with the script. We're happy with where it's at now. If it goes forward, great. If it doesn't, we're happy with what they wrote and what we came up with."

The song gets a bit dirtier and introspective thanks to verses from the guys that play up the track's bumping beat. </P><P> </P><P>Wiz kicks it off, rapping about designer clothes and his lady love, Amber Rose. "OK, I'm young and I'm tatted/ I get them bucks like an addict/ Rocking this Christian Dior/ I spend so much on my fabric/ I got a wifey at home/ And what she wants she can have it," he spits before going on about chilling on the beach, being rich and his prowess in the bedroom. </P><P> </P><P>Sitting in between Wiz and Tip is Andre's recycled verse, before T.I. gets his shot and gets sexy, asking Ke$ha, "Do you know what to do with me?" before he launches into a verse all about how good he is to the ladies. "We be on that sh-- that no one be on/ That's what we on/ Smoke that neon, Kings of Leon/ Dynamite, Napoleon/ Got some skinnies and a tee on/ And some Vans," he rhymes about his famous sense of Weezy-fied style before the song circles back to the funky chorus, where Ke$ha declares that she doesn't "need you or your brand-new Benz/ Or your bougie friends/ I don't need love lookin' like diamonds/ Lookin' like diamonds." </P><P> </P><P>If any of K's fans or critics were wondering if she has the swagger to chill with the guys, she displayed some of her sass when she <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/KESHASUXX" target="_blank">tweeted</a> about the remix.
